Cruisin Classics is excited to offer an absolutely stunning 1970 LS6 tribute Chevelle. The 1970 Chevelle is one of the most sought-after cars in the classic car market today. The 1970 LS6 Chevelle was at the time and still is considered by many to be the “Holy Grail” of muscle cars. Great effort was taken during the creation of this tribute car to duplicate a real LS6 as much as possible. A 1970 454ci engine (casting date 2/13/70) built with LS6 specs, 1970 Muncie M22 Rockcrusher transmission (casting date 2/19/70), and a 12 bolt posi rear end with a 4.10 gear. Although the 4.10 gear is correct for this tribute. If the new owner would like a more freeway friendly gear we will have our Cruisin Classics Performance Center install the gear of their choice. This car has undergone a two-year (2020 – 2022) nut and bolt professional restoration. While on the rotisserie the car received new floor pans and trunk pan. The entire undercarriage was then painted Red Oxide, correct for a Chevelle built at the Arlington plant in Texas. We believe that full quarters were also installed but are so well done you must look in the trunk very closely and know what you're looking for to tell. Great care was taken to ensure very good panel alignment, the gaps on the hood, trunk lid, and front and back of the doors are very good. The car was repainted in its original Fathom blue (Code # 28) with correct white stripes and we would rate it as a very high quality job, we don't believe that any repaint is perfect but this one is exceptionally well done. The cowl hood is functional and operates as it should. Although the front and rear bumpers are not new they still show well with minimal wear and trim pieces are also found to be in nice condition. The correct black bucket seat interior (trim code 756) is found to be in very nice condition as well, equipped with a new black dash with correct round SS gauges, 7000 RPM tach, and 120 MPH speedometer. Seat covers, door panels, and carpet are all in very nice condition, what appears to be the original headliner while showing some slight wear has no rips or tears. The 454ci engine that sits in the highly detailed engine bay has been completely rebuilt by BES Racing Engines who have an excellent reputation using LS6 specs including a genuine GM LS6 crank. The TRW 11.25:1 pistons originally used in the LS6 engine are no longer available so a set of Sealed Power forged pistons (part # 12349F30) were used along with new Sealed Power rings. To make the engine a little more user-friendly, a new Comp hydraulic roller camshaft kit (part # K11-450-8) was used versus the solid lifters used originally. Other new engine internals include new cam bearings, rod bearings, main bearings, rear main seal, 2.19 stainless intake valves, and 1.88 exhaust valves. While it is a NOM it is a 1970 454ci with a casting date of 2/13/70. The engine work was completed on 10/20/20. Great effort was taken to look as original as possible including retaining the smog equipment. The 4-speed Muncie is also a 1970 with a date code “P0B19C” that decodes as a 1970 Muncie M22 built February 19th. The rear axle is a 12-bolt posi unit (casting #3969278) with a 4.10 gear. As we mentioned before if the new owner would prefer a different gear we would be happy to install the gear of their choice at our performance center. Overall we concede this Chevelle to be a very well done high caliber car. Please don't hesitate to call with any questions you may have about this beautiful machine, we suggest you don't wait too long because 70 Chevelles at this level don't last long around here.
As always all of us here at Cruisin Classics would like to thank you for your time and interest.
